This is the starting point; where my creative process began to change after many years as a silk painter. Through exploring my natural environment, new directions opened up. It began with a visit to Berneray, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland in 2003.

The above image is an example of a combination of photography, digital manipulation, large format digital printing and overpainting on silk.  Here  I explore working in areas which combine traditional techniques with digital technology in textile art.

Technology has always helped artists express new ideas in different ways. Digital Imaging has allowed me to expand my visual vocabulary, work with an infinite number of colours and if required, recreate them with great accuracy. One of the advantages of digital printing is that images may be printed any size on almost any substrate.
